Leslie is a co-founder of the firm and concentrates her practice on trademarks, copyrights, licenses, and related intellectual property matters. In her more than twenty-five years of practice, Leslie has:

  • Advised clients on the selection and availability of thousands of trademarks, service marks, and trade names.

  • Filed, prosecuted, maintained, and policed a multitude of trademark, service mark, and copyright applications in the U.S.

  • Overseen the filing, prosecution, and maintenance of foreign trademark and service mark applications worldwide, including in Australia, Benelux, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

  • Managed hundreds of client trademark portfolios, in the U.S. and abroad.

  • Performed countless reviews of advertising, packaging, and branding.

  • Resolved numerous domain name disputes.

  • Conducted training sessions on various intellectual property issues.

  • Negotiated and drafted a wide variety of agreements, including license agreements, security agreements, distribution agreements, confidentiality agreements, freelancer agreements, publication agreements, and security agreements.

In addition, Leslie advises clients on issues involving contests and sweepstakes.

Leslie is admitted to practice by the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Leslie received her B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College in 1987 (Honors list/Dean's list all semesters). She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1990. Prior to forming Liacouras & Smith, Leslie practiced law in Philadelphia at a large national law firm.
